Places To Visit In Hyderabad :
Charminar is a very popular destination and landmark of Hyderabad which is built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutub. The name is derived from two words ‘Char’ and ‘Minar’ meaning of this is “Four Minarets”.It has a mosque with 45 prayer spaces. It looks in a square shape with the four minarets in each corner. There are 149 steps inside the minarets in order to get a spectacular view of Hyderabad. There are some balconies on the first floor.
It’s almost 50ft in height and crowds that come for mass prayer on Fridays. You can find Laad Bazaar and Pather Gatti. In front of Charminar, many stalls available such as Biryani, and Haleem made of lentils and meat, street food is easily available. That’s why people from other countries also visit Charminar for view and shopping.
Hussain Sagar Lake :
Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the largest man-made lakes in India. It was built by Hussain Shah Wahi in the year 1562. Lake connected to twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad which is built on the tributary of the River Musi to provide water supply to the city. Interestingly, the middle of the lake there is a huge monolithic statue of Lord Buddha on the ‘Rock of Gibraltar’ where this statue about 16 meters high and weight about 350 tonnes.
Hussain Sagar lake has become a picnic spot for family and friends. You can enjoy water sports and boating. The lake is surrounded by Indira Park in the east, Sanjeevaiah Park in the north and Lumbini Park in the south. Snow world near to Tank Bund is the world’s biggest and India’s first snow park.
Golconda Fort :
Golconda is one of the historical places to visit in Hyderabad which is built by Kakatiya dynasty in the 13th century. Originally the fort built in mud on a 400ft high Hill. The name derived from Telugu word means Shepherd’s Hill or Golla Konda. By the 17th century became famous as a diamond market including ‘Kohinoor’.You can find several impressive structures are armories, magazines, mosques, granaries, and reservoirs.
Golconda Fort lies to the Mahakali Temple of Kali Mandir which was visible from the King’s durbar. The light and sound show at the fort adds grandeur to it which held every evening to learn about the history of Golconda and presented in three languages English, Hindi, and Telugu. Adjacent to the fort you can see beautiful places like Taramathi Gana Mandir and Premamathi Nritya Mandir. Flag Hoisting was done at Golconda Fort. Ramoji Film City :
Ramoji Film City is certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest film studio complex which built by Film Producer Ramoji Roa in 1996 over 2000 acres in Hyderabad. It is also production center for popular newspaper Eanadu and television network ETV by Usha Kiron Television. Usha Kiron Movies is one of the film production belongs to Ramoji Group that shot a number of films in Ramoji Film City.

Salar Jung Museum :
Salar Jung Museum is an art museum and the third largest museum in India. Salar Jung was an adventurer who traveled the globe and collected souvenirs of his travel. Its complete private art collection of the Salar Jung Family.The museum built in December 1951 by the first prime minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. The area took place in 10 acres and built-in 2 floors.
It has a massive collection of more than 47,000 printed books and 43,000 paintings like art objects and 900 manuscripts. The Clock Room is the most interesting feature of the museum and finds some 300 antique clocks to its name. It has collections of textiles, carpets, carvings, metallic artifacts and furniture from other countries.
Taj Falaknuma Palace :
Taj Falaknuma Palace is also known as a ‘Jewel amongst the clouds’ was constructed in 1894 owned by Nizams. The name Falaknuma means ‘Mirror of the sky’.The palace spread over 32 acres and height 2000 feet above the city of Hyderabad. Now the palace converted as a 5-star luxury heritage hotel.
This palace has a charming structure where tourists attract to the ambiance and look like Nizam’s era. All the rooms where beautifully refurbished and the palace treats all its guests like royalty. It has the world largest dining hall, the 101 Dining Hall. You can do weddings in Falaknuma Palace. There are 60 guest rooms have been designed in an aesthetic manner.
Nehru Zoological Park :
Nehru Zoological Park is situated in Bahadurpura, Hyderabad. It was opened to the public in the year 1963 where it contains wildlife and nature spread over 300 acres of land. Nehru Zoological Park was one of the largest zoo parks in the country. You can find Lion Safari Park, Elephant Rides and more than 160 species of animals. In the year 2013 celebrated 50th Golden Jubliee Celebrations in Hyderabad.
If you unable to walk take a mini-train which about 15 – 20 Min round covers the entire park and it is also possible to drive your car or rent a battery-operated vehicle or bicycle. Even you will find food stalls inside the park. Moreover, it is advisable to bring your own food for lunch and enjoy the beautiful climate along with different trees.
The Zoo is closed on Monday. Rest of the week it’s open from morning to an evening around 8 am to 5 pm. It usually takes around 6 – 7 hours to cover the whole zoo park and its best place for Wildlife lovers. The zoo is occupied in the excess of 1500 types of untamed life. It also home for Russell’s Snake, Monster Snake, Python and many more.
Birla Mandir Temple :
Birla Mandir temple is built in 1976 by Swami Ranganathananda dedicated to Lord Venkateshwara at the height of 280 feet. It’s completely constructed with white marble which brought from Rajasthan. Birla Mandir does not have sound bells so that visitors can do prayers or meditation without any disturbance.
The Birla Mandir presents a spectacular sight at night time. The temple also has separate shrines for Hindu Gods and goddess including Shiva, Ganesh, Hanuman, Brahma, Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Saibaba. You will find a temple dedicated to Buddha. The temple opens every day to visitors. Photography is not allowed inside the temple you have an option to keep the camera into the locker. This temple has a huge crowd on Saturday.
Chilkur Balaji Temple :
Chilkur Balaji Temple is also known as ‘Visa Balaji Temple’ situated in Chilkur Village dedicated to Lord Venkateswara along with Sridevi and Bhoodevi. It is surrounded by trees and the lake. This is the oldest temple in Telangana and only temple in India which does not accept any donations from the devotees.
First time if devotees visit to temple, they include 11 ‘Pradakshinas’. Once the wish is granted they take 108 pradakshinas to thank God. Many devotees while taking rounds do mantras and pray to God. More than 1 Lakhs devotees visit Chilkur Balaji Temple every week.
The temple darshan timings are from morning 5 am to till night at 8 pm. Sometimes devotees can be seen doing pradakshina late night also. You can find Haritha Hotel by Telangana Tourism and also small food stalls outside the temple.
