Mahabaleshwar is breathtaking view situated at a town in Satara district of Maharashtra with an attitude of 1.353 M above the sea level. The name derived from Lord Mahabali means Great Strength. Mahabaleshwar is also called as ‘Land of Five Rivers’ at this point the river Venna, Gayatri, Savitri, Koyna and Krishna Originate. It comprises three villages namely Malcolm Peth, Old Mahabaleshwar and some part of a village called Shindola.
Mahabaleshwar attracts with lovely views, beautiful landscapes with pleasant temperatures. One of few evergreen forests in India. There is an old Shiva temple which looks like Rudraksha. Even Panch Ganga Temple is one of the most visiting places in Mahabaleshwar.

Elephant’s Head Point :
Elephant’s Head Point is also known as Needle Hole Point is the one most visited place in Mahabaleshwar situated at the extreme end of the hill lies beyond Lodwick Point. An Attitude of 1290 M from above sea level. The portion of the hill looks like elephant’s head and trunk because of this named as Elephant’s Head Point.
From here you can observe Sahyadri Mountains range and see natural rock formation with a hole in between named as Needle Hole Point. Kate’s Point is also another place near to Elephant’s Head Point.

Mahabaleshwar Temple :
Mahabaleshwar Temple, an ancient Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is situated in Old Mahabaleshwar built by Chandarao in the 16th century. It is divided into two sections as the inner room(God Chamber) and outer room(Central Hall). The Shiva lings sanctum has the 500 years old and 6 ft long looks in the shape of Rudraksha.
The architecture of the temple is inspired by many tourists. During Festivals people comes from different places and see foreigners. Must visit place in Mahabaleshwar.
Krishnabai Temple :
Krishnabai Temple is the source of Krishna River situated few meters away from Mahabaleshwar Temple built by a ruler Ratnagiri in 1888. The temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and find a small stream of river flowing from cow face falls in a small pond. The temple looks very old with beautiful columns and stone carved shape are the special attraction for tourists.
Interestingly, there is no electricity in the temple because the energy destroys light bulbs. Tourists are increasing every year. You can see Panch Ganga Temple, there is a small and well-marked lead to Krishnabai Temple. But tourists may not visit these place much.
Panchgani Temple :
Panchgani Temple is Hindu Pilgrimage Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna situated near to Mahabaleshwar Temple built by Raja Singhandeo. The temple is constructed to dedicate the five different rivers named as Venna, Koyna, Gayatri, Savitri, and Krishna.
All these rivers come out of stone merge into one pond. You can collect water from the pond and take it home. Moreover, you will find a guide and explain the history of this temple. Must visit the temple in Mahabaleshwar.
Lingmala Waterfall :
Lingmala Waterfall is one of the tallest waterfalls in the area at 152 M situated in Mahabaleshwar. The water here flows from a height of 600 feet. Lingmala waterfall is a source of Venna River. The beauty of the waterfall is surrounded by lush green and there is a small pond to swim but adviced to not to go deep.

Arthur Seat Point :
Arthur Seat Point is a popular vintage point with an elevation of 1470 M above sea level situated in Mahabaleshwar. It is also considered as the ‘Queen Of All Points’.Sir Arthur Mallet who lost his family at this point. Later he is the first man to visit here and built a home at the spot. From this point, left lies Savitri Valley whereas right considered Brahma Arayana Valley.
This place is one of the most trekking spots for adventure lovers. People or Tourists can observe Window Point and Tiger’s Point which is a source of Savitri River from these Arthur Point. Its stunning views of the valley and hills. There are a few street food stalls like strawberries and etc.
Mapro Garden :
Mapro Garden is a very popular tourist destination in Mahabaleshwar. Mapro is a short form for Mahabaleshwar Products and founded in the year of 1959 by Kishore Vora. The strawberry festival is held every year with the four-day festival where more than 250 farmers participate. There are many varieties of mapro products sells like syrups, jelly and sauces and etc.
This place offering Chocolate Factory. The restaurants serve chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry pizza, and strawberry sandwiches and etc. During festivals, Mapro Garden gives strawberries for free to the tourists.
Pratapgad Fort :
Pratapgad Fort is the pride of the Maratha Empire is the large hill fort with an altitude of 1080 M built by Maharaja Chatrapati Shivaji in 1656. It is well know fort for the battle between one of the finest warriors of them Afzal Khan and Shivaji.
The fort divided into two parts the lower fort and the upper fort.Where upper fort was built on top of the hill including several buildings, dedicated to Mahadev Temple presents and lower part situated at the southeast part of hill.Lower part is dedicated to Goddess Bhavani.
The fort becomes a famous tourist place and people go for trekking here. You will find food stalls and restrooms. Its must visit place for history and photography lovers.
Venna Lake :
Venna Lake is a manmade lake in the year of 1840’s by the ruler of Sri Appa Saheb Maharaja.Venna Lake is surrounded by lush greenery and spread an area of 28 acres.Pratap Singh Garden is situated on the bank of Venna Lake.
This place has different activities like boating and horse riding. Moreover, you will have games like a toy train and many more for kids. When you visit Venna Lake you can also go fishing or eat some traditional food over there. Tourists will enjoy this place with friends and family.
